Quarters of Coverage Needed for SSD


In general, according to the Social Security Administration, to get disability benefits people must meet two different earnings tests:

  1. A “recent work” test based on the age at the time the person became disabled and
  2. A “duration of work” test to show he/she has worked long enough.
